After high school, I worked at Starline, Inc. for three years as a timekeeper until I married and moved to Key West, Florida where we were stationed in the U.S.Navy for the next two years, followed by a move to Jacksonville, FL where we were stationed for another 2 years.  We moved back to Illinois in 1971 (and I always said I would return to Jax).  I eventually returned to my job at Starline, Inc. in 1974, as a timekeeper and cost accountant.

In 1977, I began work at The First State Bank of Harvard as a proof operator and became the supervisor of that department two years later and was part of the team responsible for the implementation of the computer system for the bank’s proof department.

In 1987. I attended the American Institute for Paralegal Studies, graduating in 1987.  I began my legal career at various law firms, Farm Credit Services, and the McHenry County Courthouse in the traffic/misdemeanor division.  In 2001, I moved to Jacksonville, Florida and obtained a position at Hinshaw & Culbertson Law Firm for 10 years as a litigation paralegal/word processor for the Managing Partner until he left.  I then returned in 2008 to the Workers Comp department until my retirement in 2012.

Keith (Schacht) and I married in 2002.  He worked at The Jacksonville Zoo as a horticultural technician. We have enjoyed traveling the State of Florida, mostly Disney World (of course) and the Florida Keys.  We have traveled many of the Eastern sections of the U.S. (New England, Carolinas, Tennessee) and would like to venture, out west soon.  Our ultimate dream is to visit Ireland which we hope will come true soon.  In 2012, we left the “City” and moved to the country in Flagler Beach, Florida 5 miles from the beach which we enjoy almost every day.

As for the I would most like to see, I would hope, of course, my old gang will be there and remember me. I also wish my best friend later in life could be.  But, in addition, I would love to visit with each of you that are in attendance and I hope we all will have a great time together, forget the political asylum of our world for the night and “party like it’s 1966”.  Sorry, Prince.

My biggest regret is that I never went to college or wrote the great American Novel.  But there is still time for both. right?  As for the biggest surprise of my life, it would be that I get to live my retirement years in Florida.

My biggest accomplishment (other than my children of course) is that I won an award in 1987 for a poem I wrote in study Hall in 1964 about President Kennedy’s assassination called “A day to Remember”.  It is published in the Book of American Poets, 1987.  ????

My future dream would be to travel to each of the continental states, and including Alaska, in an RV, boy toy included for driving, of course.
