WHAT A WEEKEND!  THAT WAS THE RESPONSE FROM EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED THE 50TH REUNION PARTY AND ACTIVITIES ON SEPTEMBER 9TH AND 10TH.  THE GUYS WHO GOLFED ON FRIDAY HAD A LOT OF FUN AND ENJOYED A BEAUTIFUL DAY.  52 PEOPLE GOT TOGETHER ON FRIDAY EVENING FOR A POTLUCK DINNER AT DICK AND LYNDA STOXEN'S HOME.  LUCKILY, THIS YEAR THE WEATHER CO-OPERATED AND WE WERE ABLE TO ENJOY THE OUTDOORS. LOTS OF WONDERFUL FOOD, PLENTY OF DRINKS, AND A CHANCE TO GET RE-ACQUAINTED WITH CLASSMATES WE HADN'T SEEN IN MUCH TOO LONG.

SATURDAY MORNING WE MET TO HAVE A CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST AT THE REMODELED HIGH SCHOOL AND TO HAVE A TOUR OF THE BUILDING.  WHILE THERE WERE FAMILIAR AREAS, THERE WERE ALSO PARTS OF THE SCHOOL THAT WERE ALMOST UN-RECOGNIZABLE.  A TOUR OF THE STARLINE BUILDING PROVED FASCINATING FOR MANY OF THE CLASSMATES WHO EITHER WORKED THERE OR HAD FAMILY WHO DID.  THE VISION OF WHAT HAS BEEN DONE AND WHAT IS STILL ANTICIPATED IS AMAZING. SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO ATTENDED CENTRAL SCHOOL WENT ON A TOUR OF THAT BUILDING WHICH IS NOW THE HARVARD SCHOOL DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION CENTER.

THE RAINY WEATHER IMPROVED BY AFTERNOON AND THERE WERE SEVERAL HOURS FOR PEOPLE TO EXPLORE THE AREA OR TO REST UP FOR THE EVENING'S FESTIVITIES.  MANY ARRIVED EARLY FOR THE REUNION PARTY AT THE STARLINE BUILDING.  ALTHOUGH WE MISSED SUE HORN DIMICK, WHO WAS SUFFERING FROM PNEUMONIA AND UNABLE TO ATTEND, THERE WERE STILL 51 CLASSMATES IN ATTENDANCE! THAT IS THE SAME NUMBER THAT ATTENDED THE 25TH REUNION.  THE EVENING PROGRAM STARTED WITH AN INSPIRING AND THOUGHTFUL INVOCATION BY DAN GUTTSCHOW.  ALTHOUGH THERE WAS FOOD, AN OPEN BAR, A SHORT PROGRAM AND RECOGNITIONS, AND PHOTOS TAKEN, THE BEST PART OF THE NIGHT WAS JUST VISITING WITH CLASSMATES AND THEIR SPOUSES.  SEVERAL PEOPLE MENTIONED THAT THE 4+ HOURS WASN'T ENOUGH TIME AND LAMENTED NOT HAVING HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK WITH ALL OF THE CLASSMATES THAT THEY WANTED TO.  IT WAS HARD TO SAY GOOD-BYE TO OLD FRIENDS THAT WE HAD CONNECTED WITH AGAIN AND NEW FRIENDS THAT WE WERE ABLE TO GET TO KNOW BETTER.

The eloquent and thought-provoking invocation given by Dan Guttschow at our reunion.Thank you, Dan!
